Wimbledon Open is an International tennis tournament which is scheduled to start from today. It is a tournament which has a lot of history behind it & is also considered to be the tournament where legends are born.
The 2013 Wimbledon Open is considered to be the 127th edition of Wimbledon Champion and it is the 3rd Grand Slam of the year which will be played on a grass surface and is taking place over a series of 19 courts which includes 4 main showcourts, Centre Court, No.1 Court ,No. 2 Court and No. 3 Court.
It will currently take place at the ''All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club'' running from 24th June till 7th July.It consists of singles, double & mixed doubles.Roger Federer & Serena Williams are the defending champions of the singles.
The Wimbledon prize money for 2013 have been increased by nearly 40% to $ 34 million. The winner of men's & women's singles title will each earn $1.6 million which is up by euro 450,000 from last year.
In the 2013 Wimbledon, prize money is highest out of all the four Grand Slams compared to $32 million at the U.S.OPEN, $million at the Australian Open, $million at the French Open.
