Uttarakhand Underwater Misery Continues even after Military help.

The never ending monsoon in the Indian states of Uttarkhand and Himachal Pradesh has caused a great trauma for the residents of the affected areas. As per reports there are over 50,000 people yet to be rescued. The Rescue operation has started quite a long with a success of 34,000 habitats.

In this severe monsoon 207 people have lost their life.

In a meeting with the National Disaster Management Authority, the Home minister Sushilkumar Shinde concluded : ''We have evacuated more than 34,000 people. Some 49,000-50,000 people are still stranded."

"The figure of the death troll so far is 207, but more people could be buried under the debris," Shinde said.

The Indian army have joined in the rescue operation like supply of food and medicines in the flood affected areas. The helicopters used in the operations have landed in Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva.  The temple is intact but the shops and homes there are badly damaged.

Over 34,000 tourists have been evacuated from the flood affected areas mainly from the places like Uttarkashi, Tehri, Rudraprayag and Pitoragarh District. The temple authorities of Kedarnath temple have stopped any kind of temple visits for the tourists until the situations are brought back to normal state.

The ITBP (Indo Tibetian Border Police) have joined in with the army to bring down the 8,000 people struct in Gaurikund with the help of ropes.

All in all this has been one of the biggest human rescue operations performed by ITBP, the army and the NDRF (National Defense Response Force).

We believe Indian Army along with the other allies will surely succeed in Rescuing the stacked people making Shinde's statement wrong and proving themselves once again to be the best in such jobs.
(R.I.P for those who have lost lives.)

Cheers
